Strombergs wins World Cup in Holland with Herman taking 3rd!
Great weekend at the UCI World Cup in Holland. Maris Strombergs had a great Day 1 qualifying 1st and placing 2nd in the Superfinal despite a mistake in the wind. He came back even stronger race day, winning the main from lane 8 and confirming he’s not only motivated but also strong going into the World Championships… in Birmingham in 2 weeks. David Herman once again proves he’s on a mission this year looking to do whatever it takes to make Team USA for the Olympic Games this Summer. Another World Cup Podium for David and like Maris, he too is looking strong and confident for the World Championships.
Maris Strombergs School visit
Maris Strombergs made a visit to a local Murrieta Elementary School, Cole Canyon. He spent time with the kids sharing the importance of working hard towards your goals and emphasized that a key to success is to “never give up, and try your best all the time”. The kids enjoyed seeing Strombergs’ bike and were excited that he’s heading to London to defend his Olympic Gold Medal. This is one of many visits Strombergs has made to local schools to spend time with the kids and to encourage them to reach their fullest potential. Cheers to Strombergs for making the time to give back even with a crowded training schedule less than 85 days before the Olympic Games!
USABMX/UCI Season Opener for the Free Agent at Oldsmar Florida
Great start to the season for the FA Team at the USABMX/UCI Gator Nationals in Oldsmar Florida. With the World’s best Elite riders all in attendance and with our very own, Maris Strombergs, securing the Win on Saturday, it gave us a sneak peek at Maris Strombergs’ renewed focus and ever-present determination as we lead up to this year’s World Championships and Olympic Games in England. Despite, fighting off flu-like symptoms on Saturday, Maris managed to ride strong in the 50-deep field and grabbed the win in the main event. Maris, unfortunately, awoke even worse on Sunday and as a result was unable to compete. Instead, he headed back to So Cal for some much-needed rest.
New FA hopeful, David Herman, was winning laps all weekend. A small mishap on Saturday cost him a place in the main event but he came back stronger on Sunday and secured a spot in the main.
Our Amateur Team showed up strong as always with Stephen Larralde grabbing a 2nd and 3rd for the weekend while “Bling, Bling Juan Marin” walked away with 3 big wins!

Maris Takes the PRO/UCI Series Gator Nationals in Florida
Maris Stombergs won the 1st big race of the year this weekend in Oldsmar Florida against the World’s Best. David Herman was also in the Pro final on Sunday. Stephen Larralde placed 2nd and 3rd , Juan Marin also won 3 times over the weekend in his class. Full report to come.

Another great weekend for Maris Strombergs taking another big win in Puerto Rico. Juan Marin also rode solid all weekend with a 2nd and 3rd. Next up the ABA Grand Nationals in Tulsa at the end of the month.

Free Agent Pro for a Day Experience
As part of our ongoing commitment to give back to the communities we serve, Free Agent/KHS Bicycles, recently donated the, “BMX Pro for a Day Experience” to the San Diego-based Toby Wells Foundation. This package included a brand-new Free Agent Bicycle and gear along with a three hour training session at a location of the purchasers choosing with Olympic Gold Medalist, Maris Strombergs, Stephen Larralde & Dale Holmes. The sale of this package resulted in an $1800 donation to Toby Wells Foundation by a generous bidder, where 100% of these funds will be used to help underserved children, persons living with disabilities and orphaned animal. Free Agent/Rockstar Clinic Camarillo CA
This past weekend marked the kick-off of the Free Agent/Rockstar Clinic Tour with a sold out crowd at Freedom Park in Camarillo. Dale Holmes, Cristian Becerine, Maris Strombergs and Marcus Hampton were the instructors of the day. The clinic turned out to be a huge success with well over 60 kids and their families taking part. It appeared that participants and parents appeared to all have a great time. Kids left with goodie bags stuffed with the latest items from our Free Agent/Rockstar Team sponsors. Save the date – our next stop on the Clinic Tour is Lake Perris on Saturday, March 26th. Please see the flyers for further details – hope to see you there!
