Over the weekend the Pro Team headed out to North Carolina for the USABMX Nationals. Great track and facility yielded a solid bag of results. Cristian Becerine has been on a streak lately and took the wins both days. It was a consistent weekend for David Herman, who placed 4th on Saturday and hit the podium Sunday with a good 3rd. The Machine rode well all weekend. On Saturday, a few mistakes cost him his spot on the box but as usual he made a strong comeback Sunday battling for the win and ended up with a 2nd behind Sam Willoughby. Maris also scored the added Answer Holeshot award, which offers a little more padding to the wallet, which is always nice. Good to see both Maris and David on the box at the same time.

This coming Wednesday, May 15th, Cristian and David will be doing a Clinic over in Colorado at the Dacona BMX while Maris heads back to Europe for the next round of the European Championships in Germany.

It’s been a busy few weeks for both Crisitan Becerine and Maris Strombergs.  Maris made a quick trip to France last week to race rounds 1 & 2 of the European Championships and came away with back to back wins both days.  Maris said he enjoyed racing back in Europe so much, that he plans to do a few more rounds including the Latvian rounds later this summer.  Who knows, there could be a possible European Championships Title run in his future.  Crisitan Becerine keeps a busy schedule whether he’s racing or conducting Clinics.  Currently, he’s in the “thick” of the schedule and charging through.  Cristian had a great turn out in Boulder City for a Clinic earlier this month and this past weekend made the trip to Oregon for the USABMX Great Northwest Nationals, which he won both days.  This coming Sunday, April 21^st, Crisitan will be back at it at the Santa Maria Track for a Clinic from 12-2p.m.  Check it out if he’s in your area.   As a participant, you can always count on loads of free products from our generous team sponsors.  As always, a note of thanks to our sponsors:  #rockstarenergy #fox #maxxis #odi #kmc #Weinmann #Insight #Tioga #Shimano

Clinics are 2 hours in length. Admission: $35 (pre-registration) $40 (walk-on/sign-up day-of) Walk-on sign-ups and goodie bag pick-up are on the day of 1 hour before clinic start time. Pre-registration encouraged. Goodie bags include a variety of products from Team Sponsors. Additional prizes and giveaways for outstanding clinic participants will also be given. Clinic will cover the full 101 in BMX racing, coupled with training tips that each rider can do on their own at home.

Maris on the new 2012 Latvian stamp with a picture just after receiving the 2012 Gold Medal in London! Maris was on a Latvian stamp in 2008 after his first Gold Medal won in Bejing.

Just last month while in Europe, Maris Strombergs was inducted into the European BMX Hall of Fame by the Godfather of European BMX himself, Gerrit Does, of Holland. Congrats Maris.
