Alec Bob off to a Good Start

This past weekend was my first race back since my injury in September. It was refreshing to be back at the race and seeing so many familiar faces again. On the first day of racing I was rather anxious. Once the jitters were out of the way I was able to ride more consistently and smooth. After wheeling out of the gate in Friday’s main I ended up fifth. Day 2 I was mentally stronger and ready to improve my results. After winning 2/3 preliminary rounds I finished 3rd in the main. On the third day of racing my body was feeling the fatigue of the previous race days, but mentally I was finding my groove. I won my second and third rounds including my stacked semi final. In the main I didn’t have the best start and got squeezed out down the first straight and salvaged a fifth. Overall the weekend was great for my first race back. Only a couple things to work on and I will be back out in front.
Next week I will be at the Olympic training center for a week to prepare for the SX World Cups then I will be in Phoenix the following weekend for the my first elite race of the year. Cant wait, see you out there.

Alec Bob 2017 UCI World Champion

We are very excited to announce that Alec Bob is the 2017 World Champion 17-24 Challenge Men Division! Congrats Bobster!
Check out Alec’s recap of the tough week leading up to the race: “This past week was the World Championships in Rockhill, SC. My week didn’t start out ideal with sleeping on the airport floor after my flight continued to get canceled Sunday night. Unfortunately the cancellations kept me from attending my practicing on Monday. It was a mess, but I didn’t let it get to me. After 4 days of watching races it was finally my turn to race. Race day was great with winning every lap, but my quarter final. In the main I had gate 1 (which is the best gate to have) and I was able to get a good start and battle with another rider until the first turn where I swooped under him to take over the lead. I was over joyed when I crossed the finish line in first place.”
