Phoenix Report

March 6, 2013

USABMX Nationals PhoenixThis past weekend the Team headed to Phoenix, Arizona for the Elite Season Opener of the USABMX’s Winter Nationals at Black Mountain BMX. An up and down weekend for the Team with Stephen Larralde crashing a few days before the race in practice and left unable to compete but hopefully he should be back racing later this month in Dallas. Even though it didn’t show in the results, David Herman, put in some notable laps and looked strong. With snow back home in Colorado, it’s been tough to clock bike time but we’re certain the next few races David will come back strong. After a busy winter back home in Latvia, with countless media commitments and much-deserved down time, Maris Strombergs, started his build up for 2013 with the goal of making the mains and he put in many solid laps. Overall, the weekend resulted in a 6th and an 8th for Maris, which was respectable when considering the 45+ best Elite racers from all over the World were in Phoenix. Crisitan Becerine had a mixed weekend with a solid Vet win on Saturday and an unfortunate crash on Sunday, which sidelined him for the last main. All in all, it was a positive start to the Season and the guys are just getting rolling. Look for Maris, David, Cristian and Juan Marin in Oldsmar, Florida this weekend for the next stop on the USABMX series. A Big note of thanks to all of our sponsors for their continued support.
