Music City Nationals Nashville TN

This past weekend both Maris Strombergs and Cristian Becerine made the trip to Nashville, TN for the Music City USABMX Nationals. For Cristian, it was a break from his busy schedule of Clinics and a time to get back on the track for some actual racing — something he has not done for quite some time. After deciding not to chase Olympic qualification for 2012 and having already raced the 08 Games in Beijing, Cristian decided to move into the Vet Pro class. This move gives him more of a chance to focus on Clinics and also allows him to enjoy his racing more without the added pressure of the Olympic dream. Today, the Vet Pro class is highly competitive & Cristian is looking forward to the challenge and fun. Cristian made a trip to the podium twice this weekend with two 2nd place wins back to back. Good job, Big C!

Maris is back in the States from Europe and was keen to get back on the track and make up for last week’s disappointment at the World Championships. Saturday, Maris took it to the wire winning start to finish from his usual choice of lane 8 and backed it up with a strong 2nd place slot on Sunday after not getting his best start. Still, all in all, a solid weekend for the Machine and more confidence on the build up to London.

Strombergs wins World Cup in Holland with Herman taking 3rd!

Great weekend at the UCI World Cup in Holland. Maris Strombergs had a great Day 1 qualifying 1st and placing 2nd in the Superfinal despite a mistake in the wind. He came back even stronger race day, winning the main from lane 8 and confirming he’s not only motivated but also strong going into the World Championships… in Birmingham in 2 weeks. David Herman once again proves he’s on a mission this year looking to do whatever it takes to make Team USA for the Olympic Games this Summer. Another World Cup Podium for David and like Maris, he too is looking strong and confident for the World Championships.
